Recommended Uses

  • Rub on grilled pork chops prior to cooking
  • Sprinkle on apple sauce (seriously, so good)
  • Remove the skin of brie cheese and gently coat before baking
  • Add to new york strip steak right before grilling
  • Mix with butter and toss in ziplock bag with unsalted peanuts
  • Add to mashed yams or sweet potatoes
  • Rub on skinless/boneless chicken breast and roast in oven
  • Sprinkle on sautéed zucchini
  • Use on glazed root vegetables (turnips, celeriac or pearl onions)
  • Rub on a lamb shank before slow-cooking

Second, we add in a bit of our unrefined Hickory smoked sea salt and alderwood smoked sea salt for a rich and complex smoky tone. Next, we layer on more wood-infused sweetness through the addition of organic maple sugar granules from a small family farm in Vermont. Finally, to complete this multifaceted journey of flavor, we mix in zesty organic garlic.     My favorite two things to do with this salt is sprinkle a little bit over sauteed shrimp. It's amazing! I also love to sprinkle a little bit over popcorn. It's addictive like crack.

    I purchased some salts as a Christmas gift and got the Hickory Maple Blend as a sample with my order. It was so good I ordered more. I keep looking for more foods to put this flavor on, my favorites so far are breakfast meats, potatoes, salads, and tex-mex tacos/quesadillas. I actually get upset when I'm having a meal that doesn't have any food I can put this on!

    I first found this salt when a friend brought marinated steak tips to a pot-luck BBQ. Everyone asked what was in the marinade, and turns out this was the secret ingredient. Since then I've used this on anything from meats to mashed potatoes! AH-MAZING!!!

    Sprinkled this on top of salmon hot off the grill seasoned with a no-salt heat blend. The perfect finish - the crunch and sweetness were amazing counterpoints to the heat of the other seasoning and the smoky char. Mmmmmm.

    I was a little apprehensive when I saw maple sugar in my salt, but this one is really awesome. Has a smoky taste that mixes with the sweet and salt. I took the advice on the site and tried it on a burger. Very tasty. I find myself trying this one on lots of food.

    This salt really jazzed up a plain roasted pork loin---highly rated! The only problem I had with this is that it clumps together.

    I love this one. I often will pick up a whole roasted chicken for dinner and this salt sprinkled on the top really makes a big difference. It has a really nice, rich flavor. I've started putting it on the accompanying vegetables and mashed potatoes, too.

    We got the salt yesterday, just in time for a dinner party last night with my parents and a few friends. We used the maple salt on pork chops and it was delicious! I LOVE the packaging! I have them lined up next to each other above the oven and it looks great. I can't wait to try the others! Very cool!
