Not all smoked salts are created equal. This one is different... and special. This is a coarse grain, however, we do NOT recommend a grinder. Although it's a coarse grind, it's surprisingly delicate, has a very soft crunch and it immediately melts in your mouth.
This sea salt is hand-harvested by a small family operation in Maine. The ocean water is collected by hand, then slowly smoked over Applewood in the small, secluded town of Marshfield about 75 miles north of Bar Harbor, Maine. The Applewood gives the sea salt a nice smokey taste with just a hint of sweet apple. We love this blend in any dish that can hold a nice kernel of smoked salt such as poached eggs, tomato soup, beef brisket or even a lovely Maine lobster roll.

- Sprinkle over the melted cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich
- Dust atop a lobster roll
- Roasted root veggies like beets, potatoes and turnips
- It's a great final touch to beef brisket
- Amazing twist to poached (or scrambled) eggs
- Sprinkle over a sautee of squash, onions, peppers and mushrooms.
- Try this over a mix of sauteed greens like bok choy, swiss chard, kale or collard greens
Smoked salts are an incredible way to impart serious flavor to any dish. Our Applewood smoked salt takes this to a different level with it's unique texture. Sometimes we prefer a delicate flake salt as a finish, and other times we really like a slight crunchy texture that only pure, unrefined sea salt can offer. This blend adds smokey and briny goodness with a little texture that pops in your mouth when your teeth crunch down on the kernels. It's delicious and the texture is fabulous. We do not recommend using a grinder... enjoy it in its natural state!
